MICROBLADING FAQ

Natural hair-like brows

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a Semi-Permanent makeup procedure to enhance, reshape, or create a natural hair-like appearance on the eyebrows. The effect of Microblading can correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrows and is an excellent treatment for those with less brow hair, thinning brows, or people who want to enhance the natural shape of their brows.

Is it Painful?

We use topical Anesthesia throughout the procedure to make our clients as comfortable as possible. Most people do not feel discomfort, but since tolerance levels vary, you may feel a light scratch feeling (similar to threading/ tweezing) but normally, it is slim to none.

What is the Healing Process?

The brows will appear much darker for the first week since the color is fresh. However, the color softens up to 30% as it heals. You will notice light scabbing after a few days. Keep in mind that this is part of the healing process and you should avoid picking the scabs as this could damage the results of the microbladed area. For the first week following the treatment, it is very important that you follow the aftercare instructions given after the procedure to ensure the best results.

What if I have a previous tattoo? Can I still do the treatment?

We determine this case by case as it depends on your skin's condition. We encourage you to book a consultation online so that the Brow Specialist can examine your skin close up and decide if they are able to do Microblading over your previous work.

How long is the procedure?

The initial Microblading session can take about 2- 2.5 hours. The session begins with a thorough consultation and evaluation of your brows. Your Brow Specialist will then shape your brows as needed, mark up the design and choose the appropriate color. Most importantly, the procedure will begin once you are completely satisfied with the shape.

How long will it last?

Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type. Since microblading pigments are not inserted into the skin as deeply as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade over time. Color retention will vary between each individual. At some point, the strokes may blur and need to be refreshed. Please note that while the Microbladed area softens with time, a slight shadow of the pigment may remain.

Is the touch up necessary?

Yes. Returning for a touch-up session between 4-8 weeks following the initial procedure is important. Your touch-up session is when the Brow Specialist can refine the brows, address any areas, and help maintain the perfect color. Touch-ups must be done no sooner than 4 weeks after the Initial Microblading session to ensure that pigment color has fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this prevents scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.

NANO BROWS FAQS

Microblading vs. Nano Machine Strokes?

With Nano Brow Machine Hair Strokes the process is simple and is accomplished through the work of a highly skilled artist utilizing a high performing permanent makeup machine.

What’s important to know about the microblading service is that it can be better suited for some skin types than others.

For example, normal to dry skin types are perfect candidates for microblading. However, if you have oily skin, microbladed eyebrows have a higher chance of fading or creating blurred strokes over time due to the skin’s high production of oil and absorption of the pigment.

Contrary to microblading on eyebrows, the nano machine hair stroke service avoids these types of risk altogether. The Nano services allows you to have fully saturated hairs stokes with better retention, less trauma to the skin, and provides you with a smoother healing process. Nano machine strokes applies the pigment to the skin without cutting into it. As a result, the nano machine strokes last longer because the device is able to implant more pigment into each hair stroke.

Does the Machine Nano Brow Service Hurt?

Everyone’s tolerance for pain is different. That being said, most clients who receive this service don’t report experiencing much pain and some equated it to receiving eyebrow waxing.

The Healing Process and Aftercare

Equally important to your PMU Microblading Artist being really good at what they do is your ability to follow the rules of the game after your procedure is complete. This will greatly determine the outcome of you having the best healed nano brow results.

During the healing process your brows might feel slightly itchy and there may be some light scabbing.

Don’t worry, this is all a part of the process! You will be given ointment by your technician that you should apply daily to your brows to help calm and lightly moisturize the brow area which will help with the healing process. The entire healing process should take about 10 days. In addition to applying the ointment, during this window of time it’s extremely important you follow these set of rules listed below.

FIRST DAY CARE:

Please remove excess lymph from your eyebrows by washing once with neutral soap before going to sleep. After washing, dry with a napkin and apply a thin layer of the cream.

DAILY CARE: (2 day)

  • Do not splash water on your brows.

  • Use Water wipes or use a round cotton, wet it with distilled water then very lightly wipe over your brows, then apply ointment using a clean Q-Tip or your fingertips 2 times a day, throughout the healing process until brows are completed peeled (ABOUT 7-9DAYS).

  • You will notice brows flaking, scabbing and itching (in the first 4-12 days) is common as the skin heals.

  • Never try to rub, touch, scratch or remove the scab, to avoid pigmentation loss, infection or scarring.

  • In the shower, just wash your body and keep your head (brows) away.

AVOID FOR 2 WEEKS:

  • No exercising until brows are completed peeled (to avoid sweating).

  • Avoid Retin-A, AHA, Glycolic Acids, exfoliants and anti-aging products on your treated area.

  • No sunlight and tanning beds for 2 weeks

  • Do not wax, peel or laser hair removal treatment around your enhancement

  • No hot tubs, sauna, pools, and the sea during the entire healing process

  • No Brows makeup up during healing time

  • No facial treatments until brows are completed peeled.

  • After the healing process is complete: take care of your brows by using sunscreen or moisturizer.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING HEALING PROCESS:

Day 1-3: Brows look darker, thicker (swollen) and sensitive. Don't worry, the color will fade ove the next week.

Day 4-7: Brows will begin to scab/flake and patchy. do not panic!

Day 8-14: Brows are completely peeled & color seem very faint/light.

Day 15-35: Color comes back, starts to resurface and darken. As this point, you can decide if there is anything you want to add or change.

POWDER BROWS FAQS

Soft powdery brows

What are Powder Brows?

Powder Brows is another semi-permanent makeup procedure that helps our clients achieve a soft “Powdery” or “Ombre” look on their eyebrows. This shading technique is done by using a small machine that disperses fine dots of pigment evenly onto the skin. This is an excellent treatment for people who want a natural look or who fill their brows in on a daily basis.

How long is the Powder Brow Procedure?

The entire process can take 2-3 hours, including a thorough consultation and professional outline. Keep in mind that we do not start the procedure until you are satisfied with the shape.

What is the difference between Microblading & Powder Brows?

While they are both forms of Permanent Makeup, the techniques give different results. Microblading gives individual hair strokes that resemble eyebrow hairs, while powder brows result in a soft and powdery makeup look.

How long do Powder Brows last?

Powder Brows typically last 2-3 years, depending on skin type. For optimal results, returning for a touch-up session 1-3 months after the initial procedure is important. *For answers to pain level & healing, please refer to the microblading answers above.
